In this episode, I sit down with my friend The Lady Pim, a pro domme and host of The Bedpost Podcast out of Toronto, to look at particular kink toys like paddles, floggers, chokers, gloves and more to see if they are actually accessible. This was a hilariously fun time, and made me think about sex, access and kink in a whole new way. Enjoy!
In this episode, I do another Seasonal Sex Tips and Disability as we start fall. This time I look at all the coupley/date type things we do in the Fall and examine whether or not they are accessible. Find out what would happen for me as a disabled person if we went camping in October, went horseback riding, tried to build a bonfire together, tried pumpkin carving and so much more.
In minisode 27, I asked you to send in your letters and e-mails that answered the question, "What Scares You About Being Disabled?" I share letters from listeners all about their fears around disability. Enjoy! Send in your minisode letters to [email protected].
In this episode, I sit down with bionic babe, essayist and editor Dayna Troisi. We talk about sex, disability and her experience being an upper limb amputee. She shares that she is a "slutty disabled person", we talk about why it's okay to be messy about disability and a whole lot more.
On this episode, I sit down with author and sex educator Kevin Patterson. We chat about his experiences being a partner to poly disabled people; how polyamory really works when navigating a disabled partners' needs, and a whole lot more. Enjoy!
In this episode, I sit down with sex educator and host of Sex Out Loud, Tristan Taormino as we talk about her experiences with chronic back pain and working in the sexuality space. Enjoy!
In this episode, I sit down with a researcher from Toronto's Holland Bloorview Children's Rehabilitation Hospital to talk about a new study that she enlisted me and others to help her on, looking at how to talk to disabled kids and their healthcare providers about sex, sexuality and sexual health promotion. A whole lot of questions and conversation arise from this, as we talk about how we can combat ableism in this area, what it's like to put on a study like this, why there aren't more research based discussions on the topic, why healthcare providers might be scared and more! Enjoy!
Hey, hey! The minisodes are back! This is where you send in your stories about disability and I read them back to you. In this one, we hear from Sammy who tells us about their worst disabled traveler experience; Shawna tells us about the worst dating advice they have received as a disabled person, and Julia tells me how she lived through my worst sexual nightmare, and it was kind of awesome!
For the three year anniversary of this show, I am so excited to share my very first LIVE episode ever of Disability After Dark. I did a show at Toronto's iconic Masonic Temple with my friend porn star (and repeat guest), Jay Austin. This time around, I look in his eyeballs and ask him "What Would Happen If You Became Disabled Tomorrow?"
In this episode I sit down with Dr. Judith Glover from RMIT University who is one of the lead innovators and key members of the design team working with us on our Deliciously Disabled sex toy project. We talk about how she became involved and interested in sex toy design, how you create great sex toys, how sexuality and disability is a human right, and we explore what the future of sex tech and disability might look like. Enjoy!
