Episode 014 - Young, Queer & Crippled: A Throwback Episode to Andrew’s Teen Years

This is a throwback episode for me where I share my stories as a young, teenaged queer cripple. I talk about wanting to fit in, wanting sex, and most of all wanting friendship as a young, disabled teen. Through these stories, I hope to provide insight for young cripples coming up in the world, as well as their parents, who may well want to understand how their child's experience in high school as a disabled youth feels.

Episode 013 - Devoted to You: DisabilityAfterDark Interviews A Devotee

This episode was so awesome to tape. I talked to my friend Stacie who recently came out to me as a "devotee" (def: someone sexually attracted to disability). I was fascinated by this because as disabled people we have been taught that devotees are dangerous. I wanted to understand what her relationships as a devotee were like, and understand it more. She explains about her attraction, her relationships and subsequent marriage as a result of being a devotee.

Episode 012 - Cripples in Da Club

DisabilityAfterDark on the Dancefloor! In this episode, I talk about my experiences entering the sexually charged spaces that make up the club scene from the perspective of a queer cripple. I talk about getting ready to go to the club, what it feels like to be unable to enter the club due to inaccessibility, and what actually happens to you once your in 'da club. I suggest that we need both physical and emotional accessibility available in these spaces so that crips can club too.

Episode 09 - Accessing Anal

In this episode, entitled "Accessing Anal", I talk about how inaccessible anal sex has seemed to me as a Person with Disabilities, but that I've always wanted to try it, but felt that I simply couldn't. I talk about issues like cleanliness, pain, spasticity, and advocate that we should have more information around anal sex and disability. I also maybe refer to myself as a human dildo. Enjoy!

Episode 08 - Why We Need to Talk About Disability, Sexuality and Depression

In this episode, we go deep into how sex and disability, and all the issues that surround that, can lead to a type of sexual depression and anger connected to disability. I explain what that felt like for me as a Queer Cripple, and advocate for space to be made where the sexually active disabled person, can share their experiences.

Episode 07 - Hurt Me, Please: Pain, Pleasure and PwD

In this episode, I talk about another myth around sex and disability. The "oooooh, we can't have sex because I'll hurt you" myth. We go deep into why people are so afraid to 'hurt' disabled people, and how this affects their views on sex and disability. I also share that some of us might like pain, and discuss why this is the case.
